Commitment to the Community
Eye Specialists of Carolina and Laser Eye Center of Carolina feel it is our responsibility to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve. Beyond improving the health and vision of our patients, we believe we can make a positive impact through charitable contributions and our commitment of time and energy to national and local interests.
Philanthropic Giving
Local and national organizations have benefited from cash contributions and event sponsorship. Some of the organizations that have benefitted recently include:
- Susan G. Komen for the Cure
The Laser Eye Center of Carolina supports the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization through sponsorship of their fundraising events. We were a major sponsor for Ride for the Cure which featured local motorcycle riders and we helped sponsor one of our employees for the Avon Walk.
The Miracle League was established to insure disabled children have a chance to play baseball through specially designed fields and rules designed to give a positive experience. The Laser Eye Center of Carolina has been pleased to be a major sponsor of the Cary-Page Rotaries annual fundraiser to benefit the Miracle League of the Triangle.
- National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund
Dr. Dean Dornic and the staff of the Laser Eye Center show their support for the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund by sponsoring Raleigh’s first “Run for Fallen Heroes Race”.
- The Muscular Dystrophy Foundation
Dr. Dornic and Eye Specialists of Carolina supported the local Muscular Dystrophy Chapter by helping bail out Mrs. Dornic in their annual lock-up campaign.
When Prevent Blindness North Carolina asked Laser Eye Center of Carolina to help sponsor their “Little Night Vision Gala” we were happy to oblige. Dr. Dean Dornic and his wife Pam dressed up to take part in the festivities.
- Local Schools and Teacher Organizations
Eye Specialists of Carolina and Laser Eye Center of Carolina have been proud to play a part in education with cash contributions and the donation of LASIK procedures for fundraising auctions.
Donation of Services
At Eye Specialists of Carolina and Laser Eye Center of Carolina we are doing our part for our nation’s un or underinsured. Through Eyecare America, Project Access of Wake County and the Glaucoma Eyecare Program we donate thousands of dollars in free eyecare. Its all part of our commitment to the health and vision of our community.
